New update - Structured and listed resource collection for UCEED
UCEED is basically an undergraduate design entrance exam (for B.Des). You may find it difficult to find materials directly in the form of books. I, therefore, gathered relevant materials in this post for your benefit. Many of the materials are available as downloadable PDF files.
UCEED questions seem to center mostly around mathematical aptitude; especially geometry type questions; which judge your observation, imagination, problem solving, lateral thinking and of course creativity. Keeping this in mind, I have gathered some useful materials related to basic geometry. I strongly believe that aspirants should have good knowledge about geometry solid transformations and manipulations. This subject area will directly improve your (above said) skills (observation, imagination and lateral thinking). So, that's why I would like you to start your UCEED practice by getting good grip on this area.
Here is my latest post - Improve imagination, work with 3D solids and unfolding of solid shapes

Abstract Tests
Abstract, mathematical and mechanical aptitude type of questions didn't appeared in CEED exams, but those ARE REQUIRED for you ! This type of reasoning and logical questions seems to be a part of UCEED syllabus; and the sample model test that IIT B released recently proved this. I therefore, included abstract test exercises in this resources page for obvious reason. Abstract reasoning tests helps you with pattern findings and also for problem solving.
For now, I've managed to gather some questions that would help you by giving idea of what it looks like and how to deal with those questions. Later, if time permits, I will try to give my reasoning, and some idea on how to solve such questions. (These tests were taken from pscychometric-success.com)

General Design Awareness study topics
I have covered a lot of topics related to CEED Part - A exam in my earlier posts for CEED students. The topics are basically related to several design field awareness, their past, present and future. Fortunately, most of those topics can be directly helpful for UCEED aspirants also. Thankfully; that reduced my burden :)
I therefore have included those selected topics and skipped some topics that might not be useful. Hope this will be helpful for your preparation.

In mathematical geometry part ; firstly something is wrong with exercise questions( it gives an error). and also is the projection of shapes at different angles important for uceed( i am finding it difficult)
ReplyDeleteWill check that link, The reason why I included projection of shapes, although it has some chances of appearing in exaam is because, it seems to be the base for understanding solids and it improves imagination and observation like I mentioned in the post. Also, when you are able to draw those views, then you would also find it easy to solve questions like 'counting no. of surfaces' etc, without actually putting pen on paper ! That's why it would be better if you get to understand those concepts.
DeleteThat exercise link has been rectified now :)
DeleteYou may check and download those slides now; coz those slides are really helpful !
hey bhanu the link of tips for selecting plastic materials is not opening. please upload it .
ReplyDeleteThere seems some problem with that web page itself, it's not opening! Any way I managed to a pdf in place of that. You may check now and download it.
Deleteis architecture important to study for uceed ?
DeleteI think 'no'. It's just my guess and I think that archi questions might not appear in UCEED. That is the reason why I haven't included archi collections here (although I have complete set of Indian and world archi, that I shared in CEED resource page !)
Deleteya i have gone through it , thanks and i must say you are great and your blog is helping a lot in preparing for UCEED exam
Deletebut i found mechanical reasoning questions slightly tough how shall i prepare for it ?
If you are not able to dervie by yourself, then best thing to do is to go through as many examples (reasoning questions) as possible to understand different concepts and how to solve those. That way you will get idea ....
Deleteman!! thank you so much bhanu sir!! this is like a light in a storm!!
ReplyDeletetussi great ho
ReplyDeleteIt's ok, thanks!
DeleteHello Bhanu,
ReplyDeleteI would like to thank you for all the input you have provided in this blog. In your opinion which is a better option for B.Des. NID Ahmedabad or IIT Bombay?
It depends on personal choice. If you want the complete flavour of design with little or no concern towards engineering approach, go for NID, else if you wish to have a mix, then aim for IIT's. In either case, try both !
DeleteThank you so much sir!! I was going through your blog to study for UCEED, by studying CEED papers, but was unsure of the questions that might be asked. You paved a direct path to study and to guide us and I am grateful that you did that!! :) You're doing something awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a useful post !
ReplyDeleteCan you even Pl post the answer key for ceed qs papers 2006 to 2011 . It will be very useful.
I don't have any plans to give answers to those (CEED) prev papers now! Wil lthink about it if time permits.
DeleteThank you for providing such resourceful information.Your efforts will surely help many students succeed. Such great people should always be encouraged.
ReplyDeleteSir... D maths portion ll include only geometry or questions based on mensuration, profit loss... I mean general basic arithmetic ?
ReplyDeleteIt's not only - but other topics too...but yes basic arithmetic
DeleteSir, wheather it is enough to study the things posted by you
ReplyDeleteNo Akbar,
DeleteThe topics that I've covered is based on the syllabus and my observation of the pattern of questions. But I'm still figuring out what other topics could appear in exams. So, these things are not completely enough, but I can say that most of these topics could appear in the exam (apart fro other questions)
thank u very much, uceed to be conducted 1st time and surely this is "the best a man can get"
ReplyDeletegreat job sir
Thankyou bhanu sir
ReplyDeleteThe stuff you have provided is really a great help!! Thanks a lot :)
ReplyDeleteTHANKS A LOT SIR !!
ReplyDeleteMAY GOD BLESS YOU
sir mental ability test samples file link cant be opened . please upload another link.
ReplyDeleteMental Ability links are perfectly working, I just checked, please check again and let me know, try in other browser.
Deleteya it's working .
Deleteif i prapare this much.
ReplyDeletehow much i can score
God knows !
DeleteLOL!!
Deletethanx sir
ReplyDeleteit help me alot ..
thank you sir it helped alot ....
ReplyDeletesir are there any chances of mensuration questions appearing in exam ??
Yes, mensurations and other aptitude questions have chances of appearing in exam, either directly or indirectly! indirectly in the sense application of those questions in numerous form.
Deletebro salute to your work for us !! just a query what is Q paper pattern ?
ReplyDeletebrochure says
Three topics in paper 1 and next three topics in paper 2
paper 1 150 marks from morn 9:00 to 12:00 and paper 2 from 14:00 to 17:00
but in sample papers its given 3 hours 100 questions !!!!!LOL
need to check, will chk n reply
DeleteIt was clearly mentioned in the brochure - 3 hrs 100 questions, It is the correct exam format bro! 100 questions will be divided into three sections. Not like - each section will be separated and conducted
Deletehttp://www.gate.iitb.ac.in/uceed/assets/file/UCEED-Brochure.pdf
Deletedude really pls see this !!! and even in our hall ticket its there paper 1 and 2
:3
They mentioned sessions, not papers! If the applicants are more, then the same 3 hr exam will be conducted in two sessions with different questions, not for the same applicants! You should have allotted to either session 1 or session 2 but not both! check carefully and read page 7 of the link u have attached.
DeleteIf u have more doubts, call the numbers that they have provided in the brochure dude!
yeah called them !! they said only one paper !! sorry for the confusion !!
DeleteSir the sign and symbol meaning list 1 and 2 file link cant be opened. only the title is visible not the book.plz see to it.
ReplyDeleteit's working, I just checked, pl chk again, if not try in different browser
Deletesir will u upload multiple choice questions because they dont have negative marks and are a bit trickier to do
ReplyDeleteI cannot assure, let's see.
Deleteok sir
Deletei face some problems in those abstract questioning ....couldnt solve question like 12 , 13 , 14 and 15 in paper 1 !! pls help or any solutions to that
ReplyDeletesir do i need to do some general questions like the current events for general awareness or so.?
ReplyDeleteNope, don't spend time on general current affairs! it eats your time, better prepare for other topics.
DeleteSir, I want to know whether I will be able to crack UCEED 2015, if I study the material you have uploaded thoroughly? Do you think it will be tough? How many people do you think will be appearing for UCEED 2015?
ReplyDeleteYou have only 4 days left, and what you need to do is to better prepare with what you have, instead of analysing things! If you are able to cover the topics, then you may go for other topics of your choice. I cannot assure without knowing your practice level. But as per my knowledge, I don't think the paper would be tough! Just be positive ....
Deletebro i am thorough with all the exercises but still feel fear what if anything goes wrong !!! and my slightest mistake can cost a lot like over 8000 people are writing for just 30 seats and in that 50% reservation crap !!!
ReplyDeleteIt's not good to stop preparation by assuming that you have gone throug most topics bro! Remember that UCEED covers vast topics and we are yet to know which topics can appear in exam. The topics that I covered in this blog is simply based on the syllabi and my observation of the patter. We cannot judge that this is the sole topics to be prepared. Although I tried to cover design aptitude Nd other in covered topics through model and mock tests, I still feel that, the more one goes through practice exercise and the more one exposes to new topics, the more will be his/her chances of getting through UCEED. So, even if you feel like complete, still try to refer as many topics as possible, if not available in my blog, then look around and find topics in web, books, etc.
DeleteUltimately it is your inner positive confidence that gives success to you, even if your prepAration is bad ! So, be positive bro :)
And I tried to cover the topics in this blog that is not easily available in regular paper backs, books, and the content of which is web based! I felt that explanations and interaction throug a medium like blog will be more effective than just going through books
ReplyDelete!
@everyone, please note this.......
I mean just going through books with no additional explanations and solutions through FAQs*
DeleteSir isn't it an unhealthy competition 9000 students for 30 seats .which means it is too tough .but my bro in NID told me to attend exam in calm way , i will get through. he told me my mind should be free. And most important thing is CONFIDENCE.
ReplyDeleteYa, confidence is what required to achieve anything! be confident and practice well - never bother about the competition!
DeleteCan uhh give answers to some exercises questions.....pt.4 above
ReplyDeleteI've chosen those materials that has answers along with questions. Some few materials might not have answers with them. I cannot give answers to them now. You can check the practice questions - model and mock tests instead!
Deletesir what should be my last revision of the syllabus as only one day is left? I mean what should i revise and practise or memorise again and againfor the paper?Thank you so much for ur help.It really made very easy to cover topics like this.
ReplyDeleteSince only one day is left, mostly cover GA questions (if u have practised some thing on geo and observation ques), including envi. study. If possible, go thru samples of numerical and aptitude ques and memorize the procedure or steps used. Better skip comprehension type ques for now !
DeleteThanks for all the write up.........
Sir, thank you for providing us with an amazing study material. Had a wonderful time studying for UCEED through your blog.Sir, I have a doubt. How should I recognize the difference in fonts?
ReplyDeleteIt's purely based on your visual observation. Even I sometimes confuse identifying the right one. Do, one thing, if you have system, open a word document and try to go through different types of fonts. Observe them, that's how you can learn about that.
DeleteIn reference to the Madgels question, the vertical lines in the M of Madgels are somewhat tilted while in reality they are straight, and the e in Madgels is somewhat straight in the middle and then round while in reality it is perfectly round. Hence the answer.
Deleteok
Deleteall the best to all the candidates !! prove yourself that u r worth for that seat in IIT B IDC !!and a great work by bhanu bhai !! a selfess work !! thank u !! its been a good journey in reading and going through your blog !!!
ReplyDeleteThat's really cool - wishing others ! and thanks for pointing. Best wishes :)
DeleteHello Sir.
ReplyDeleteThe exam was very interesting!A mixture of surprise and expectation.
Section A and Section C to be specific :)
Section B was weird. Kinda tough.
I know you'd be interested, the question paper and answer key are out! Do check out :)
PS. Just thought you deserved a feedback.
That's really a formal way of giving feedback. That shows your courtesy. Yes, it's more of image type and with many surprises. I didn't even saw a single question related to Environment issues - that's really weird. Also they have covered more design GA questions related to culture, archi etc - that's also a big surprise. I guessed that those topics are not required at 12th level.
DeleteAnyway, since this is a first paper, we have to cope with the surprises. And this is definitely helpful for the next year applicants. Thank you .......
for the feedback :)
DeleteHello Amber Agarwal,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the information, unfortunately I accidentally pressed delete button which was next to submit button, and so your comment got deleted, if you can drop it again, others would also get benefitted.
It's okay if they copy this blogs mock test, but it's not okay, if they took 15k from students like you but thought you very less as part of UCEED preparation. I also came across one other design institute (in FB) stating that online resources are mis-guiding (indirectly pointing this blog) and only trainer based teachings are successful. Surprisingly similar kind of incident happened when I started my blog in 2013. The so called seniors (whom we're perusing MDes at that time) started pinching me, stating that I should not speak, unless I get into IDC! (Although I didn't stopped coz I know the importance of having a discussion platform!)
While I didn't commented to that private institute critics at that time, it's sad to hear more happenings similar to that. Anyway, I wish the students not to waste their money further unless the institute is really worth joining (by getting reviews from people like you whom have already gone through the situation).
Anyway, I tried and I'm still trying to make my blog posts a self study tool, because I myself being a follower and fan of 'self study' knows the pros and cons. Learning after certain level, should go by self - although guidance (not complete teaching) is there. That's why I have been insisting the blog readers (I created a google form last year for the earlier CEED students to make them understand the situation, get motivated and act) to start guiding the prospect students by their own through platforms like FB, mails, FB groups etc without even depending on my blog!
The base idea is if many people (call it seniors whom already cleared CEED/UCEED) start giving guidance through these platforms, then there wouldn't be any need for the prospect students to depend on any institutes or blogs. I also wish this years UCEED crackers to start their group (hopefully in FB) and start giving advices for the next year UCEED students.
Thank you for the info. I hope next year aspirants will note your feedback about the institutes :)
Thank you for reply sir.
DeleteI went to PAHAL DESIGN ACADEMY (Bhopal). I paid 15k for 30 day course.Firstly they didn't give me any demo class. When I joined the classes I found that teachers were under qualified. Not even a single question they taught in their so called 'crash course' appeared in UCEED.They copied Bhanu sir's Mock test and served it to us in their 'mock test'(I had already solved it by then).
Secondly not for uceed only, their coaching was insufficient for NID,NIFT,NATA also.
Overall it was a bad experience.
hey bhanu sir it was a nice experience in giving uceed examination some part was unexpected history and environmental part i founded it tough. your blog i would say that it helped us in enhancing our logical part.let's hoope for the best and i will definitely crack uceed in next year.if not in this as we don;t even know the cutoff criteria :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the feedback dosth, ya I too got to know about the pattern. Some questions are unexpected. Glad to see your motivation. Keep up the good thing. Thanks again :)
Deletepleasure :)
DeleteSir, what about 2nd session of uceed exam
ReplyDeleteSessions are nothing to do with UCEED admissions. Since the number of applied candidates were more and since the examination centres were less, the UCEED examiners decided to conduct the same exam in two sessions (morning and afternoon - not for the same students - some students will be allotted in morning session while others would be allotted to afternoon session with different question paper of same difficulty level) to cope the applicants number. So, nothing to worry about that.
DeleteNo, UCEED had only morning session this time, the no. of applicants did not exceed the estimated number. All students were allotted the morning session.
DeleteYa, we know that, they estimated more aspirants, that's why they planned for two sessions to be on safer side, but fortunately, they were able to accommodate in a single session, and hence no issue.
DeleteHellow sir, sir, can u suggest study materials about nid (ug) ???? Plz
ReplyDeleteHello Abhishek, I don't have any materials or suggestions for NID.
DeleteHellow sir, I passed out my 12th in 2014. I belongs to PWD catgoary. Can I apply uceed 2016????
ReplyDeleteI fear you cannot, those who complete in 2015, or going to complete in 2016 are probably eligible. Please check other design courses from other institutes and their eligibility criteria.
DeleteMy UCEED rank is AIR 24 and my category rank is 22. Of course a big thanks to the study material you provided :) .But still I dont know if a chance in IDC or not?
ReplyDeleteJust in case if dont go to IDC. I have three other options
-IIITD &M Jabalpur for B.Des
- Nift Chennai for fashion communication
- Pearl Delhi for communication
which do you think will be the best?
Hello Riya,
DeleteThat's a great news, congrats.
Although I'm sure you will get into IITB, but like you said, it's better to keep options for obvious reasons. IIITD&M is good if you are not that much keen for fashion. Else if you have no issues going through fashion studies, both Pearl and NIFT are good. In fact I would say that Pearl is a very good institute although it's a private run, still it has good name and faculty. Nothing much to say about NIFT, since they are nation recognized institute bodies like NID's or IIT's. If you are willing for OTHER THAN fashion courses, go for IITDM.
the first admission list has been terrible, the first 14 ranks got the first 14 seats. I certainly have no chance now. I m thinking of going to IIITDM Jabalpur, but it is starting this year and don't know if I will get a good placement there
DeleteYou always have the option for masters (M.Des) In fact doing masters is recommended after bdes. So, I think you don't have to worry much about placements in any institute. Anyway, also watch out for Pearl Delhi admissions if you are particularly interested in placements right after your bachelors.
Deletei am so confused .. DOes IIT Delhi also offer b.des courses ??
Deletecheck this
DeleteDesign Institutes for UCEED after 12th
I have started preparing for these exams with Afdindia .They have helped me with proper study materials, guidance, and support from mentors.
ReplyDeleteWho is taking class in add. Juli mam or Rakesh sir.
DeleteBellow sir,
ReplyDeleteI am Abhishek Kumar always follow your links. I want one help.
Whenever I do perspective or composition drawing. I complete well . but, I take a lots of time.
Almost one hour
But, in examination they will give almost 20 min for that and they will provide (7X7 inch box). In that box we can't take vanishing point properly. What should we have to do in this conditions.???
One more thing, in perspective drawing, which pencil we should work. ,firstly, I use 2H pencil for ruf sketching afterwards I use HB pencil.
Hello Abhishek,
DeleteFirst of all, if you are aiming for UCEED, then drawing is not required as part of exam. If you are talking about CEED, then yes drawing is important in many ways. Although picture composition type are there in CEED (for less than 15-20 marks), compared to other design questions, this part has lesser marks. The reason is other questions (for > 30 marks) are design based. I think there shouldn't be any problem with perspective in this case. If not one vanishing point picture, try to go for multiple vanishing picture, it's always ok for design questions - bother mostly about your idea and the way you present them. 2H is fine for initial rough work, better go with 2B and 4B apart from HB. Stick mostly to 3-4 pencil types if your sketch skills are not fast enough to cover within the prescribed time.
Fast sketching DEPENDS on your practice. The more you practice, the more time you can save time for sketching. Also, during exams, frame your sketches according to the time limit. There's a simple way - start with giving a overall shape/picture of your design, then only go for detailing. You may get a good guide on how to deal with sketch probably in this post of mine - How to start and what to practice for CEED
Can u suggest any book for preparation of uceed...!!!
ReplyDeleteAs of now, I haven't come across any suitable book for UCEED as well as CEED.
DeleteCan u plzz arrange.. This year UCEED paper for me , if u can then then mail me

hello sir! i am preparing for uceed 2016. i had given uceed15 too but i was not selected. please give me some tips for preparation. and thanks also i have gone through the material you provided here its really good m studying all these topics well for uceed16. pls give me some more tips too...
ReplyDeleteHello there, I guess I already gave enough tips from my side, anyway check yourself whether you have gone thru this page. You still have enough time and so, you can happily and easily cover almost all uceed topics, just make sure that you work and practice more on image and mathematical aptitude type questions, because that is what you need to concentrate from the very beginning, others like GA, cultural aspects and other theoretical ques can be covered at one time later also. So, amke yourself comfortable with geometry transformations, pattern analysis, observation of images like finding a pattern, identifying depth of the image (hidden image etc). Thsi si how your observation skills can be improved, others can be taken care like I mentioned. Just take a moment and go thru this page, see if it can clear ur doubts !
DeleteBasic and first time tips for UCEED preparation
Hope this helps......
Hello sir,
ReplyDeletei just wanted to know how can i crack UCEED . Is there a need to join any kind of coaching classes for that. I really need your help as i have been a science student. I have completed my 10+2 this year. So i badly need your help. Can you tell how should i start preparing for it. I am ready to burn the midnight oil for that but i need guidance and assistance. So can you help me out with that, can you tell me about the important exams in this field and the dates of those exams. And how to prepare, which books are required, what is the syllabus, what kind of study material is required, from where i should get that and the minimum hours i should practice everyday. Sir i badly need your help. That'll be great if can you answer all my questions. I am willing to nail this exam but i don't know from where should i get the proper assistance and guidance.
Thanks.
I can see your seriousness about cracking UCEED exam, since you are already a science student, I think you are already on safer side! also trust me UCEED is much more easier than CEED, you don't really have to think negatively, all you can do is practice from your side, the topics and the syllabus listed here in this page and from the official UCEED page, as you can see ceed (part A) n uceed pattern r almost same, so u can take both the materials from ceed n uceed resource pages as well as practice the mock tests and sample tests that has been included. Don't touch Part B of CEED, which is not required for your level. Answer to the question 'How to start preparation ?' as already been dealt in this link, please refer to this
DeleteHow to start and what to pracice for UCEED exam
You can spend less than 2 hrs a day, that is more ....more...more....than sufficient considering the no, of months that is left till the exam. Study materials according to the syllabus are already included in this page, you can refer to them. Trust yourself n prepare well, u can easily crack the exam. Try ur hands on this years (uceed2015) paper n chk in which areas (topics) u r lacking, then concentrate on those topics from now. Also, u may chk my reply above to get more insights.
hope this works for u!
THANK YOU SO MUCH SIR. AND I'LL SURELY FOLLOW THE PATH WHO HAVE DESCRIBED. A BIG BIG BIG THANKS
DeleteYOU** HAVE DESCRIBED.
DeleteU r doing a great job Bhanu..may god bless u..
ReplyDeleteI wanted to know abt the best colleges I could apply for graphic design rather than NID and IITb?
Not sure esp. about graphic design institutes but as per my knowledge private insti like MIT, symbosis are gud for GD.,although I think the following links might help you
DeleteList of BDes insti - Entrance exam website

I am planning on appearing for UCEED 2016. This stuff is great and is really helping me for the same. Thank You, Sir. Also, do you have a rough idea of when the admittance process for UCEED 2016 begins? Anybody?
ReplyDeleteUsually after uceed, admission will happen in the months of june-july
DeleteDear Bhanu, doing a great job by guiding these youngsters! God bless you! My daughter studies in the 10 th std and wished to join iit b for B Des...we have been thinking of joining Pace for two years integrated course..can you Plz guide me whether that would be right decision or she should join some other classes too for Uceed (she will appear for jee mains also..to be on safer side in case if she doesn't clear Uceed) so any suggestions from your side will be of great help!! We are totally blank as we have no background in this field...she is a hard working sincere girl, always tops her school and good at drawing too!I would be obliged if you guide her..thank you so much dear!
ReplyDeleteDear Mr. Bharti,
Deletewhile i'm not sure about Pace, but since you are confident that your daughter is good enough to clear studies, I think that itself is more than enough, and she can study by her own, (may be with your guidance). Also coaching for uceed is not yet intense in any available coaching centre. I had feedback from some students about some institutes, that they are taking my bog mock tests and content as part of their course. Anyway, since uceed difficulty level is not that much compared to ceed, she can go with self study. Also if she clears JEE both rounds and get the chance of getting btech in iit's, let her also try that. If incase she joins btech, and at later point, she feels like it's not suited for her, then also she has the option of going for mdes ! which is also a design course.
Options for btech graduates are diverse and usually design students end in confusion as to which track to choose. So, let her think, whether she can bear with btech or some other course from it's and if she has no issues, let her opt that.
Thank you so much beta for the invaluable guidance!! God bless you dear always!! Keep up the good work you are doing!👍
ReplyDeleteThank you very much beta for the invaluable guidance!! God bless you always! Keep guiding!! Hats off to your parents too for instilling these good values!
ReplyDelete:) ............. Thank you Bhati ji for all the blessings. Best wishes for your daughter.
DeleteSir, if I don't get into the IDC.... should I go for the IIITDM Jbl.? I mean, is it as good as the IDC?
ReplyDeleteIIITDM is certainly the best option to go for when when u didn't get IITB, but certainly it's not equally comparable in every respects to IITB, but still IIITDM is in no way inferior compared with rest design institutes, you can certainly give it second preference
DeleteWhat is the percentage of merit in uceed 2015 selection
DeleteI'm not sure about that brother.
DeleteSir, Now given that IIT-G has been added...is it better than IITDM? Coz Chances of getting into IIT is pretty less!!! (given 15 seats :(
DeleteI still don't understand the idea of analysing for ranks and institutes, almost everyone is bothered much about the future rather than the present! If I were to take an exam, I would target for the first rank, n if I'm lucky enough to get near about top ranks, then I would choose the top institutes, else I will select the next best option, if neither happens and if i can bear one more year, I will wait n will try to crack the preceding year considering my interest in that field.
DeletePlease start focusing on you preparation rather than about institutes, institute selection SHOULD be a later part (after exam) and u can decide whether to choose or not! after giving exam, u can decide which college is better based on ur rank!
THIS COMMENT IS FOR ALL UCEED/CEED ASPIRANTS BOTHERED ABOUT INSTITUTE SELECTION AT AN EARLIER STAGE and is not specific for Shreyas :)
TY.. sir, I get that!!! .....:)
DeleteSir not able to solve some of the questions related to Abstract Reasoning test no.1
ReplyDeleteQ12 and Q13 can u suggest some ways to get these questions right
May be you should chk this - How to solve Reasoning and Logical questions
DeleteGeez thanks sir
DeleteI need some confidence booster
Also 18
ReplyDeletesir i seriously want to crack uceed.i have just two months left in my hand.pleasee help me to prepare in this short period of time.this will be the great help of my life.please
ReplyDeleteI can understand your seriousness, go though this page content in detail and try to solve as many practice questions as possible, I think that itself will help you in every respect :)
DeleteYes, there are chances !
ReplyDeleteSir, kindly provide the link for the answer of othographic projection exercise (4th download link). Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThere isn't solution manual for that. If incase I solve them or some one solve and share the answers with me, I will update in this page!
Deletethankyou so much for the material u provided..... but sir how to handle questions like who is the designers of the logos??? as asked in the uceed exam.... and even the painters of the given paintings...
ReplyDeleteNo other way, you have to memorize them!
DeleteSir, I had ordered the uceed exam study materials from Arkin coaching centre. Can I able to prepare completely for uceed only by practicing these materials or I have to do some more from others.
ReplyDeletePlease guide me.....
no materials including online sources or blogs are complete, u need to chk as many references as possible! once u get the materials chk yourself whether it covers almost all the syllabus prescribed for uceed, if so, proceed with the materials.
DeleteSir, its 9 november and paper is on 17 jan. Can I prepare in this little time for just 15 seats of the course.
ReplyDeleteAnd sir, do i have to watch more videos of the same channel whose video u shared on this page?
U don't have to go thru all those videos, but make sure that u understood the basic concept from those couple of videos, else considering watching some other videos.
DeleteWhat is the lowest (or say avg) score of students out of 300 who get into IITB.
DeleteBecause Im not learning those painters and their paintings
It's ok if u skip some prep. parts esp. GA type, it's no good idea to cover all topics in depth (which is not possible!), but one can give a short overview of them. I'm not not sure about cutoffs and lowest scores, just focus on practising and getting top score rather than concerning about marks, remember negative markings are applicable, so even one with full subject grip have higher chances of making mistakes! than one who leaves them if it's doubtful, hope u understood......
DeleteThe lowest score was around 160 & the highest was 169 :) (General Category)
DeleteHey thanks Aaditya...... R u in this course? Or just preparing..?
Deletesir can u provide me links and stuff to read about logo designers, painters, and there painting.
ReplyDeleteSir, I want some study material on ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL AWARENESS which is one of the topic of uceed 2016
Most of your listed topics have already been dealt in this page! do chk above for links. Will try to get additional links if possible.
Deletesir what is the score of the topper who get the addm. in iit-b...nd in 2015 ppr there is a question in which they asked for the director nme of a hollywood movie...so how can i ppre for such type of qus??
ReplyDeletesir, apart frm iit-b and iit guwahati in which institues i can tkae addm through uceed16??
ReplyDeleteIITDM- Jabalpur
DeleteSir .. After completing all this stuff .. What should we do further except memorizing the names of painters, designers & all ?
ReplyDeleteSyllabus cover to mos textent this much, and u know what ...... aptitude part is never dealt completely !! So, u need to go thru as many (observation/visualization and other) design aptitude questions as possible. That will improve ur speed too! speed of solving ques is also imp in uceed! so indulge in as many sample questions/exercises as possible.
DeleteSo can you suggest some website or book for that ?
DeleteI found nothing at this level !
I have plans to share some collections pretty soon, as of know, i'm dealing with ceed students queries, as their exam is in 2 weeks, u still have time! if u r complete with studies, then may be you can google for topics section wise.
DeleteOk ! Thank you !
DeleteSir , in Multiple Selection Questions, it is mentioned that .... 'An answer is considered correct only if ALL the correct choices and NO wrong choices are selected. Each correct answer will be awarded 5 marks and each wrong answer will be awarded –0.5 marks. There is NO PARTIAL marks. Questions not attempted will be given zero marks.'
ReplyDeleteSo .. If out of 3 correct answers, we marked only 1 or 2 CORRECT answers, so we shall be awarded -0.5 or zero ?
I think, they will give negative marks for that.
DeleteSir just two months for the exam. if i start the prep today..will I be able to complete the PDFs you've provided? Any topics to pay more attention on? Will current affairs be asked? Will it be a problem if I have a commerce background?
ReplyDeleteIt will be problem if u don't start even now! don't think, ur background is not at all a prob, current affairs might not be useful, but GK about indian, design and art facts will be asked, chk the materials as well as the list of topics in this page!
Deleteis UCEED paper similar to somewhat thatof FDDI and how much minimum marks one should score in UCEED or NIDto get selected . I am also thinking of taking a crash course for UCEED that of 12 days
ReplyDeleteI'm not aware of FDDI pattern, but i think it's pattern is not completely same as UCEED, please chk previous papers of FDDI, which is available in internet. Minimum marks is not fixed, it varies every year dependent on many factors.
DeleteSir, now just one month left ! So can you please suggest some topics we should prepare the most after completing your stuff ?
ReplyDeleteIs General Awareness about monuments, painters, architects important ?
Ya, those GA topics are required, last year although we didn't ecpected but some questions were asked. So, go through them too .... and as of know, the list of topics that I included in this page is what I believe the complete syllabus from my side. If I find some other topics or list/names of topics, I will definitely update.
Deletethank you so much sir. great help. :D
ReplyDeletehi, sir this very useful website i got all i want to know but i did not see useful matter about painters and their painting can u help me sir
ReplyDeleteK, will update soon
DeleteHi sir...thank you very much ..I found this site very useful...For the last year's uceed they have asked for the designers of certain logos...i need your help sir!!can u please include some details regarding dat too..
ReplyDeleteI'm already on it, will update soon and inform all.
Deleteyeahh bhanu sir, i too have query regarding this what unknown has asked...plss tell me how to prepare for such ques or pls include some data regarding ths typ of ques...
ReplyDeleteSir, do you have study material for numeric type questions?
ReplyDeletesuch as formulas of area.perimeter of dufferent shapes.
That has been updated in this page under - Mathematical Geometry > Basic Geometry study (for reference).
DeleteYou may scroll to the beginning of this page and check the first section now to get the formulae pdf
Sir do u think that learning painters and painting through their styles will be helpful and there will not be a tricky question such as showing a painting made by picaso without cubeism used in it
ReplyDeleteyes, it should be helpful
DeleteWill they try to trick us with paintings not done in particular artist style
Deletelike they usually do in CEED
bit doubtful, but for safer side, better to get prepared for that situation too.
DeleteSir, first of all, thankyou so much for this blog. Sir, how do we prepare for font related questions.
ReplyDeleteExample question : "How many fonts have been used to write the following set of words?" (CEED 2015)
Although it's purely observative, I can say that Fonts can be categorized into several groups. Once you know them and if you are capable of finding the difference such
Delete1. width of each alphabet
2. Height
3. Extensions/tooth
4. Curving/plain/bends ........etc
it would be very easy to identify difference fonts. But if the question is like which Font TYPE it is, then there's no other way other than remembering them!
There's good number of links for font guide here -
Second set of GA resources for UCEED/CEED and NID
Sir do you think the names of fashion designers and photographers are important?
ReplyDeleteOf course yes,
Deleteanything related to design is worth studying!
How to prepare for literature (true statement) type questions?
ReplyDeleteCan you upload sports type questions?
Will consider those topics in further updates if any. Although I think I have included materials for literature topics in this page. Please check if you can find them.
DeleteSir,i have more or less studied all the resource and each and every bit of information you provided and from other informative sites where i could get my hands on. Now at this particular time exactly 2 weeks before the exam
ReplyDeleteplease guide me the important topics apart from imp painters and other things, among all this bunch of information which u think needs thorough revision as much as we can from this time till the exam
Mostly, GA topics needs the last moment revision and if you have gone through everything, check yourself the topics that you might have missed, other thing is check if you are able to solve all aptitude and logical problems. Don't expect the same type as in previous papers or in mock tests!
DeleteDesign and english comprehension are the topics that most people neglect, what abt u? and GA topics can never be studied full! the more you dig, the more new or related info you get. So, don't restrict but move on to in depth topics of GA.
Hi, I'd like to know how are the total marks(80) divided among the 3 sections. . .
ReplyDeleteNAT -20, MSQ-20, MCQ-40
DeleteRecently UCEED uploaded a declaration that is to be submitted in case two figures were not displayed properly in the recent exam ,..Any idea on which question it might be ? ...Because when I checked the question paper released today , I found that one of the images (Q no 16 ) was not displayed properly , The bottom part of the picture was missing when I attended the paper ... I am not sure if i should fill in the declaration because it says " some of the terminals in some of the centres did not display the figures for two questions " ...in my case the figure was displayed , but was a bit cropped out
ReplyDeleteThat was for those who really faced the problem. Some students weren't able to see two images, only for them the declaration form is applicable. They have the system to check to who this happened, so if it didn't happened with you, don't do anything, otherwise you will get into trouble!
DeleteHi, first of all, a big thanks to you for your immense help!
ReplyDeleteAlso I'd like to know how many seats are there at Jabalpur and Guwahati?
Your website helped me a lot for UCEED2016
ReplyDeleteSir , how can i cover up my GA topics
ReplyDeleteThere's no shortcut for GA other than studying or precisely mugging!
DeleteI am going to appear for class 12th board exams in 2017 . Is i am eligible for UCEED 2017 jan exam
ReplyDeleteyes, u r

ReplyDeleteI HAVE THE SAME QUERY.
ReplyDeletehello sir,i have almost practiced everything available for uceed on your blog and have completed ceed question papers part A of last 7 years.is it enough or i need something more? if it is enough then please tell me what should i do next?
ReplyDeleteit's not enough, go thru as many topics as possible n keep updating yourself!
