Model practice questions for UCEED - Sample test

you are here ....... UCEED >> 2015 UCEED sample practice mock test - 1
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to my blog.....

As you know, UCEED exam is new of it's kind and this year (2015), first exam is going to be conducted. Unfortunately since we have no previous papers or model questions, you need to make the preparation (for this year) based on an estimation and observation of the UCEED syllabus and pattern. If you have compared both CEED and UCEED patterns, you would agree that both are of same kind and most topics are same in both exams (excluding some topics from CEED).

I have been receiving many requests through Facebook as well as in this blog for UCEED materials. I had plans to cover the complete resources as a collection of topics (like I did for CEED), but because of my academic schedules, I'm unable to spend time for this, hopefully before next weekend, I will try to come up with a detailed collection of topics and materials for UCEED with some guidelines on how to proceed.

Anyway as a warm up exercise, I have taken some practice questions from my CEED mock test posts, and included here, in order to just give you a broad idea of the topics that could possibly appear in UCEED exam. I still have to gather other topics like environment, sustainability and climatic changes by way of design impacts etc.  Remember, the questions included are based on an estimation by observing (partial) the pattern and it might not be the complete set. Although I haven't still analysed the pattern clearly!

  5. bhanu theres approximately 7000 students appearing for uceed for 30 seats. can u please tell me (what u probably think) how much minimum marks should i get out of 300 to be sure of a seat at idc

    1. Hello there,
Actually it's difficult to predict cut-off's and min. marks required to crrack UCEED. It depends on the average, max marks attained, number of students participated and the minimum institute requirements. So, If say the maximum marks is say 200, attained by someone, then I guess those who are between the range of 160 - 200 could have the chances of getting into IIT.

We are not yet sure of post UCEED process, although I guess there won't be any further exam or something like portfolio/interview as is done during CEED selection, but there might be chances of having formal interview just to get to know your design interest (I guess so). So, if that is the case, then the applicants having lesser rank than other applicants having better rank, could also get seat based on his/her performance. Anyway, try your best to be on the top by practising well. That is the only thing we can do for now :) all d best

  10. Hi Sir,
My name is ankur and I'm applying for UCEED this year. I really appreciate the hard work you have done in collecting so much great content on your blog for helping the students applying for ceed and uceed. Good bless you.
A little question I have sir, can you please tell what should we do in general awareness part.
    Thank you.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Call it General design awareness questions instead of regular GA !
Most questions would generally be related to design streams and their backgrounds. You don't have to have GA knowledge like someone cracking civils does. Those questions are simple and importantly specific.
I will share a list in my coming posts soon. Thanks for all the kind words :)

    2. Hi Sir,
Thanks for replying. but on uceed website they have mentioned about general awareness like this

"General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources etc., and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure and environment. Awareness of social and cultural connection with design, history of the designed artefact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture and literature."

They have concentrated on environmental factors first. Please tell something about it. If you want more information about syllabi or anything else please go to www.uceed.in

      Thank you.

    2. By now, you should be aware of the syllabus and the broad areas from which UCEED questions could be asked based on the syllabi, right ? Now, that should give you idea some on what topics to practice.

Say, if they mentioned English comprehension, take some sample tests from internet and try your hands on it ! You may check this blogs UCEED page for the materials that I've included - most of them are test type, so I hope that helps you. You may check this link

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You already told that - Mathematical and logical ques !!!
If not directly mathematical way, atleast try to practice on logical questions. One can get hold of logic and aptitude only when one work on it, as well as THINK on how to solve the problem (even if it consumes times in the beginning). There are two ways of solving/learning math/aptitude/brain-storming ques
      1. Trying by own with thinking n imagination
      2. First option is not applicable but one is capable of learning methods - by going through the answers and trying to apply for similar ques

You need to imagine while solving such questions. Take simple (easy) questions in the beginning and solve them. If you're not able to get the answer, no issues, go thru the answer n LEARN how it was solved. Once you go through this process you will automatically start doing by your own. Remember, for the second kind, the more they practice different types (involving diff methods) the more one gets sharper and soon they can beat first category people also! Hope you got it. Check the UCEED resource page for practice ques.
