NID-DAT Resources update - New Syllabus

Hello,

In my previous post, I've given a comprehensive list of topics/syllabus for NID-DAT according to the sample test paper as available in NID official web page. While the list is yet to be added with some more topics, I've tried to gather some relevant resources; most of them are PDF's that are free to download, gathered from internet, after deliberate searching. Hope you will find that useful.

Last year, I've shared NID-DAT Resources in this post according to then syllabus. They have covered syllabus under three sections, which I tried to cover in that post accordingly. But, going through the sample paper, I sensed that more topics need to be covered, because of which I was made to make a new post. For now, I will update whatever I've found till date so that you can start working on that. Meanwhile, I will try to gather more leftover topics and share them. So, I will keep updating this page till the next month, and you don't have to worry whether you have missed the updates or not because I will inform/update in Stuff You Look as well as my Facebook page whenever there's an update in this page. Hope this would help you.

Also, in the previous resource page, you can skip general, mechanical and verbal reasoning questions (in section A3) for now, and go through rest GA topics especially in A1 and A3, as I feel that these topics could be safely neglected.

    1. Well, that's bit worrying to say that we need to read almost everything abt doodles :( such a big chance u knw! given the sample test paper, it is clear that they can take any doodle and ask abt the background, designer, significance of that day, privilege to a person etc. I knw it would be paiin going thru such a long list, but i wld rather suggest u to first memorize significant doodles related to indian context, then go for others like scientist, envi/social activities.

    2. How to narrow this info down? There's just one month left now.

    3. this page is only covered half of syllabus! I was planning to give more and u r asking for shortening this :D

Prepare more on design GA and GK, if u r familiar with design aptitude.

    4. I mean, narrowing it down to important info. Not shortening the info sir. I would love if you give some more of the information.

  2. and what about the subjective part..??
nd do we hv to read the whole history of topics dat you mention or just an idea about them is enough?

    1. subjective part is not like one day or one week study, it will be better if one has practiced well before.
Give an overview initially, n after covering all, if u get time, go thru d whole history!

    1. syllabus is never complete, we need to go thru as many topics as possible. And since u r giving NID exam also, u need to go thru more GK/GA topics. What I gave in this page are very few! I'm trying to get time for updating more useful pages.
For subjective, you need to go through illustrative problem solving, sketching, design, creative idea/making etc including writing story (little of essay) exercises, form/proportions, perspective etc. U can chk the sample paper to get an idea.

    1. My first suggestion is don't panic as you have plenty of time, and regarding finding of syllabus, for NID, the changes that has happened can be seen if you try to solve last year NID paper or at least go through it roughly. Anyway the following links has the details you needed

  16. Thank you for the efforts in making this blog and sharing the knowledge.
Is there any generic article of yours for students of 10th std who are just about to begin their study for B.Des? I am looking for some specific details regarding approaching this exam as its very different than the Medical and engineering entrance exams out there.
The sample questions which I saw seem to be dependent more on the student's natural analytical ability, do you think this can be developed with practice and how?
